For the price and portion of what you get, Sushi Town is so worth it! I can't believe I was able to get a bento for less than $10 and was full. I've ordered to go twice and dined in once. I've tried their bento, hamachi kama, and several of their sushi rolls. The bento is the definitely the most worthwhile order. Last time I came to pick up my to go order, the restaurant was full and all the tables ordered bentos. The portion and size of their sushi rolls are also on the bigger side compared to most other sushi restaurants. The overall taste of their food is decent and so far I've enjoyed all of my orders. Compared to other places, their lion king roll is also a lot cheaper. 5/5 stars for their overall food. The interior is very clean and inviting. Space isn't cramped which was a plus. Ambiance is 5/5 stars. Service the past 3 visits is 5/5 stars. When I dined in, it was very comfortable and the staff checked on us frequently. I recommend supporting Sushi Town, give them a try, and enjoy your meal!
Excellent service and generous portions at this little restaurant on Alum Rock and Whitr Road in East San Jose area. This is situated next town the famous Peter's Bakery. We will be back for the bento Lunch boxes which are even more generous according to friends that have dined there. The food presented well and everything looked and tasted so yummy.
Great sushi place with even greater prices! We did a dinner combo of chicken teriyaki and dragon roll for $24 and it was more than enough to split between me and my boyfriend. The chicken teriyaki (4.5/5) was great. You get so much chicken and it tasted just like how you'd expect it to. The dragon roll (3.5/5) was good too. I would have preferred more unagi sauce--it seems like you only get it on the eel. Overall still a solid roll. Great sushi spot, great price. Service was good too. Only thing is that it was very hot inside--there was no air conditioner and no fans in the middle of summer.
Simple no-frills restaurant with generous portions at incredibly reasonable prices. The perfect place for satisfying basic sushi cravings. Pros - The bento box at nine dollars is a steal and is great for going along with an additional sushi roll - Substitute the California roll for sashimi for an even better value, the sashimi cuts are thick - The amount of imitation crab the king roll needs to be seen to be believed. You can take some of it off and pair it with the bento or anything else you order Cons - The salad dressing on the salad for the bento box has peanuts in it so beware to those with allergies however if you let the server know they can get a substitute sauce for the salad - Personally wasn't a huge fan of the San Francisco roll, it pretty much just was a bunch of fish with sriracha drizzled on top Don't get your expectations too high if you're expecting high quality fish however the portions and price here are what make this place stand out. I'll definitely be back
Walking in, we were immediately greeted and seated. I felt the ambiance was pleasant and inviting with all the decor and lanterns. The waiter and waitress were very friendly and attentive throughout our dinner, picking up empty plates as we ate and checked in on us if we needed anything. The place was empty when we first walked in but it soon became super busy as dinner time approached. We ordered the San Francisco Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, and Salmon Avocado Roll. The salmon, tuna, and scallops tasted fresh and we scarfed down every last bit of rice off the plate. And that says a lot! I would come back again for sure.
Finally got to try this place after hearing good things. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment you walk in. This place used to be Old Town Sushi from San Mateo! We ordered the tonkatsu lunch bento, the San Francisco roll, down town roll, spicy scallop roll, and the Toro nigiri special. The bento box is definitely a bang for your buck, it was filling and all the components were fresh and filling. The sushi rolls were good and the fish portions were big and tasted fresh. The downtown roll was our favorite, it had a good amount of spicy tuna and topped with hamachi and salmon slices on top. The spicy scallop roll was okay but worth a try for about $6. The toro special was worth it, the toro melted in your mouth and came with large slices of fish as well. I'd recommend coming in and taking advantage of their different lunch bentos and the sushi makes for a good casual meal.
SO GOOD. This small sushi place is a must try in the area. We were able to find parking right in front which was quite scarce but I think there may be a lot in the back. We were seated right away and given menus immediately. All the servers were incredibly polite. We ordered the King roll and the USA roll, both of which were sooooo delicious. They were really generous with the crab and fish for the King roll. I highly recommend the USA roll for any oyster lover! I was kinda skeptical at first since I never had fried oyster in sushi before and was scared the strong oyster taste would overpower the roll, but it was so good and was a perfect balance. I will be going back to try all the other rolls since they all seemed so good!
The food is SO GOOD! I'm happy we finally have a sushi restaurant within walking distance.
